Residents and stakeholders in Mpumalanga have until 4 May 2026 to comment on the Appropriation Bill and Division of Revenue Bill. Public hearings will be held across three districts.

The Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature has officially opened the floor for public comments on two critical pieces of legislation: the Mpumalanga Appropriation Bill, 2026 and the Division of Revenue Bill, 2026.
The call was issued by the Chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Finance, Ms. LC Dlamini, MPL. Members of the public, interested parties, and stakeholders are encouraged to participate in the law-making process by reviewing the Bills and submitting their input.
Purpose of the Bills
According to the official notice, the Appropriation Bill, 2026 seeks to adjust the appropriation of money from the Provincial Revenue Fund to meet the province’s requirements for the 2026/27 financial year. The Division of Revenue Bill, 2026 aims to amend the Division of Revenue Act, 2026, in line with the Money Bills and Related Matters Act, 2009.
In short, these Bills determine how provincial funds are allocated and shared, directly impacting service delivery, infrastructure, and community development across Mpumalanga.
Public Hearings Schedule
The Portfolio Committee on Finance will conduct in-person public hearings at the following venues:
- Gert Sibande District: Thursday, 23 April 2026 – Dipaliseng Local Municipality, Siyathemba Thusong Centre (10:00 – 13:00)
- Nkangala District: Friday, 24 April 2026 – DR JS Moroka Local Municipality, Libangeni Vaalbank – B (10:00 – 13:00)
- Ehlanzeni District: Tuesday, 28 April 2026 – City of Mbombela Local Municipality, Elandshoek Community Hall (10:00 – 13:00)
