Chery South Africa confirms new brands and models launching in March and May 2026, alongside hybrid technology and advanced AI features.

Chery South Africa is preparing to expand its footprint in the local automotive market with the introduction of new models and brands in 2026, signalling the Chinese manufacturer’s growing ambition in one of Africa’s most competitive car markets.
Speaking during an interview with Khanyisa News, Mr. J. Wang from Cherry Headquarters, who is currently in South Africa as the Deputy Country Director for the Cherry Brand, confirmed that two new brands will be introduced to South African consumers this year, alongside new vehicle launches and advanced hybrid technology.
New brands arriving in March and May
According to Kelvin, the Chery Group plans to launch two additional brands in South Africa during 2026 as part of its broader global expansion strategy.
The first brand, Lepas (Lepard), is expected to debut locally in March, while the second brand, iCaur, is scheduled for May.
These additions will join the brands already sold in South Africa, including Chery’s Tiggo range and the Omoda lineup, which have gained significant popularity among buyers looking for feature-rich SUVs at competitive prices.
